GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE



Make our German Chocolate Cake recipe, then treat yourself to a bite of this delicious classic! To decorate your presentation, garnish with coconut and fresh walnuts.

* Ingredients :

+For cake:
°2 cups all-purpose flour
°1 c. baking soda
°1 c. salt
°Half a cup of butter
°1 cup granulated sugar
°3 eggs
°1 ½ tsp. vanilla
°1 cup of milk
°cup semi-sweet chocolate, melted
°2 round cake pans with ALCAN®️ lids lined with Reynolds KitchensTM butter paper
 
+To decorate:
°1 can (12 ounces) condensed milk
°1 cup sugar
°Half a cup of butter
°7 egg yolks, lightly beaten
°2 cups sweetened coconut flakes
°1 cup finely chopped pecans

* Preparation :

Step 1
Preheat oven 350 degrees F .

Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl and whisk. For reservations.
Step 3
Reduce sugar and softened butter in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a flat paddle attachment. Mix on high speed for 6 to 8 minutes, or until light and fluffy.
Step 4
Stir in eggs one at a time, and mix on low speed until smooth. Then mix the vanilla.
Step 5
Add flour mixture and milk alternately on low speed, starting with the dry ingredients and ending with the dry ingredients.
Step 6
STIrring in melt chocolate.
Step 7
POUR dough in two ALCAN®️ round cake pans lined with Reynolds KitchensTM certified paper. Place the plates on a non-disposable baking sheet to prop them up. Bake at 350 F for 35 to 40 minutes, or until center of dough is firm.
Step 8
Allow the cakes to cool to room temperature before removing them from the pan.
Step 9
Whisk the condensed milk, sugar, butter, and egg yolks in a preheated saucepan over medium heat for 12 to 14 minutes or until the temperature of the mixture reaches 160°F.

Stir in coconut while stirring. Let the mixture cool to room temperature before decorating the chocolate cake.
